At St Andrew’s Primary School our vision is to promote curiosity and interest about the world we live in through Geography. Children will be encouraged to think about the world they live in from a critical point of view. They will raise issues, ask questions and have a keen interest in the world and its inhabitants. Children will be encouraged to use a variety of sources to find their own answers but then think critically about the impact this is having on the environment. Cross curricular links will be built to allow children to draw on other skills and information to allow them to deeply reflect on what they’ve learnt.
Upon leaving school children will have developed a good level of place knowledge and confidently draw comparisons about places around the world but also be able to think deeply themselves about the world and issues directly affecting it.
