School Council

The School Council is made up of two representatives from each class in our school. The representatives stand for election and are voted in by the rest of the class. Each year we have different children on the School Council.

Sometimes issues are raised by the teacher(s) leading the council, and sometimes agendas are led by the children.

Children discuss issues in class councils and report views of the whole class back in the School Council; likewise they discuss issues brought up in School Council meetings back to their class.

School Council have led assemblies and introduced activities and ideas to the rest of the school. They also arrange special event days and fundraising activities within school.

This is an excellent opportunity for children to voice their opinions and lead changes and initiatives throughout the school. Sometime issues are raised that have not been apparent to adults in the school, so it serves as an essential forum for children to voice their views.

If you have an idea or issue that you think is important then speak to one of the children in the School Council.
